◦ The Brief
“A home for a retired couple with opposite tastes — one drawn to vibrant colour and expressive detail, the other to soft nudes and understated elegance — that also has to come alive whenever the grandchildren stay.”
◦ The Approach
Saanj was designed around slow living: comfort, ease of movement, and a timeless elegance for every day, in rooms that turn into a lively retreat when the family gathers. Rather than let one taste win, the studio built a palette that holds both — nude walls, warm wood, and calm fluted surfaces as the base, with jewel-toned upholstery and gilded detail placed where they will be noticed. A pietra-dura mandir and a backlit dining vitrine carry traditional craft into a contemporary frame, while the two bedrooms, one in terracotta warmth and one in cool blue, give each mood a room of its own. Warm, timeless, and recognisably both of theirs.
